In the Capstone Project: Teaching Impacts of Technology, participants will delve into the Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles course and exam description guide to equip themselves for the "Explore Task." Through hands-on activities and assessments, they will explore recent computing innovations, assess student work, and provide and receive feedback, preparing to teach pre-college learners to be proficient in their digital worlds.

  • Complete the Explore Task from the student perspective
  • Assess sample secondary student work using APCSP scoring guidelines
  • Provide and receive feedback on submitted tasks

Exploring the Impacts of Computing

Welcome to the Capstone! This module provides an overview of the course and the importance of understanding Advanced Placement CS Principles. Participants will gain insights into the Explore Task and prepare to research a recent computing innovation.

Evaluating Student Work

In this module, participants will delve into the process of scoring student work and providing feedback. They will compare scores with colleagues, apply scoring guidelines, and gain a first-hand experience in evaluating student work related to the Explore Task.

Computational Artifact & Feedback

Participants will receive instructions for the computational artifact and complete their own artifact in this module. They will also explore the AP CSP Explore Task student instructions and gain practical experience in creating a computational artifact.

Final Project

Completion of the final project is the focus of this module. Participants will finalize their Explore Task, ensuring that they have thoroughly completed all requirements before moving on to the next stage.

Congratulations! This module marks the end of the course, allowing participants to review and reflect on their learning experiences, providing a comprehensive understanding of how instruction and activities can be designed to support learning.
