Welcome to the course

This module provides a comprehensive introduction to the course, offering guidance on how to succeed in online learning, an overview of the team, and details on Leiden University. Participants can also familiarize themselves with the learning path, CME information, and engage in community interactions.

Before the Transplant

Before the Transplant module delves into the essential aspects of kidney transplantation, including the immune system, histocompatibility, patient selection, and COVID-19's impact. Participants can engage with interactive cases, 3D videos, and gain insights into the future of HLA epitope matching.

The Procedure and the Patient

The Procedure and the Patient module covers immunological challenges, diabetic and elderly patients, organ procurement, surgical procedures, and living kidney donation. It includes interviews, serious games, and VR videos to enhance understanding.

Early Challenges in Transplantation

Early Challenges in Transplantation module explores surgical challenges, rejection mechanisms, immune suppression, novel therapeutics, and biomarkers. Participants can engage in interactive patient cases, e-tivities, and gain insights into therapeutic drug monitoring.

Late Challenges in Transplantation

Late Challenges in Transplantation module addresses late complications, infections, malignancies, cardiovascular diseases, tolerance, and recurrence of kidney disease after transplantation. Participants can explore patient cases, vaccination, and engage in e-tivities to enhance their knowledge.

Final Quiz

The Final Quiz module offers participants the opportunity to test their knowledge and understanding gained throughout the course, reinforcing key concepts and preparing them for successful completion.
