Course Modules

This course comprises four modules that cover topics such as the introduction and history of business models, strategy, innovation and organizational development, methodologies for business model development, and different types of business models.

Topic 1. Introduction, Concept, and History of Business Models

The first module introduces the concept and history of business models, exploring the six key factors for success and identifying white spaces. It provides an overview of the schedule, evaluation, policies, and methodologies, emphasizing the importance of observation and storytelling.

Topic 2. Strategy, innovation and organizational development as an integral part in the definition and design of business models

The second module delves into the role of strategy, innovation, and organizational development in defining and designing business models. It discusses essential skills, business model portfolios, and new skills required for entrepreneurship and innovation, promoting individual practice and peer evaluation.

Topic 3. Methodologies to Develop Your Business Model

The third module focuses on methodologies for business model development, covering Gassman’s methodology, design elements, and the University of St Gallen’s business model dimensions. It includes challenges and the delivery of a final project evaluated by peers.

Topic 4. Different types of Business Models

The fourth module explores different types of business models, emphasizing visual thinking and value mapping to identify opportunities. It concludes with a final exam, self-assessment, closure, and a networking session to consolidate learning and insights.
