Basics of COVID-19

This module provides a foundational understanding of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, including its natural history, risk factors for severe disease, diagnosing COVID-19, and the importance of stopping transmission. Students will also gain insight into the CDC guidance and tools for COVID-19 isolation and quarantine.

Basics of Contact Tracing for COVID-19

Students will delve into the basics of contact tracing for COVID-19 prevention, defining cases, contacts, isolation, and quarantine, calculating isolation and quarantine duration, and identifying high-risk situations. Additionally, they will explore the practical application of the COVID-19 Isolation and Quarantine Calculator.

Steps to Investigate Cases and Trace Their Contacts

This module focuses on the steps involved in investigating cases and tracing their contacts, emphasizing the essential procedures and checklists for conducting effective case and contact calls.

Ethics of Contact Tracing and Technological Tools

Exploring the ethical considerations of contact tracing and the use of technological tools, this module addresses privacy, confidentiality, and the rationale for using technology in contact tracing. Students will also examine examples of technology used for contact tracing.

Skills for Effective Communication
