In this 1-hour long project-based course, you will gain hands-on experience in accessing, parsing, and visualizing data from various bioinformatics sequence and structural online databases using Biopython. The course covers the following key topics:

  • Sequence alignment using NCBI-BLAST
  • Fetching PUBMED & Nucleotide sequences using ENTREZ, PDB, and EXPASY
  • Accessing KEGG pathways and genes
  • Interaction with bioinformatics file formats such as FASTA, PDB, GENBANK, and XML
  • Utilizing various parsers to read and modify these files using Biopython
